Consulting
— Strategic Value Partners

Alongside the work and support Malcolm provides, captured on this site, he established Strategic Value Partners as the corporate consulting arm to his purpose. This business is still active but is slowly taking second place to his guiding, coaching and mentoring, and also spiritual support in Radiating Your Light (RYL).

STRATEGIC VALUE PARTNERS (SVP)

SVP was founded by Malcolm Lewis in 1991, originally as a specialist Chartered Accountancy practice and Management Consultancy based in Bristol, UK.

This firm was formed after over 10 years of working and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG (KMG Thomson McLintock) in Bristol, followed by various interim finance controller and full-time director roles in industry and then a further period with a specialist corporate finance and venture capital practice, based in South Wales where he obtained his practicing certificate.

Over the last 30 plus years SVP has worked around the world for both multinational clients and locally in the UK with small to medium businesses (SMEs).

SVP expanded its services into a number of key areas, namely:

Consultancy

The primary focus of SVP during its first 10 years was financial management (corporate finance, venture capital and company turnaround) and business planning aimed at SME and Entrepreneurial businesses in the UK. However, over the years this core financial specialism expanded significantly and integrated corporate culture and values development, strategic planning, strategic leadership and corporate governance; finally psychology, team psychodynamics and spirituality were brought in with these being delivered to large and multinational organisations through corporate consulting and training and development.

The firm’s original specialism of corporate finance has undertaken and supported some 39 company financial restructurings and buyouts, with the latest completing successfully as recently as early 2023 with the sale of a language translation business to a Private Equity (PE) firm in London. These deals were both on behalf of clients with some including Malcolm as an investor himself.

Furthermore, in the early 1990’s Malcolm and the firm also worked in China around Project Finance.

Business Training

Since 2002 Malcolm got involved with commercial training for global training providers such as Informa (FTSE 100)(IIR/IFF), Terrapinn, The Institute of Chartered Directors (IOD) and The Academy of Chief Executives (ACE) by delivering intensive programs, around the world — specifically in UK, Europe and the Middle East.

Academic Lecturing

Blended into the middle of his working life, from 1995-2014, Malcolm also became passionate about academic lecturing as a visiting lecturer and visiting fellow working for a range of leading Business Schools on Masters, PhD and Executive Development programs. He delivered modules in strategic finance, entrepreneurship, strategic leadership, business strategy, strategic planning and corporate culture and facilitation.

Malcolm realised that making a difference to people was extremely important to him and especially in the Executive MBA space, both for the mature students that he felt he could help but also for his own on-going learning and development to bring leading edge thinking with consciousness work together. His favoured space was operating in the ‘no-man’s land’ between full-time academic teaching and research on the one hand and real world commercial hands-on business issues and solutions.
